The most popular Parador in Spain, hence the hardest to reserve, is the Parador de Granada located in the Alhambra itself, about 9.5 miles to the nearest airport and 2.5 miles to the rail station. This is a small parador in a 15th century convent rich with Mudejar and Arab inspired architectural touches, including splashing fountains, wraparound loggias, gardens of wisteria and aromatic herbs.
The interior combines Arabic and Christian styles with classical furniture, numerous portraits, engravings and embroideries. The dining room has a coffered ceiling and serves local and international dishes. Guest rooms are roomy and comfortable, the decor, tasteful, with a rich Andalusian ambience, and with views of the buildings of the Alhambra complex.

Featured Destinations
Granada
Granada is located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Andalusia, Spain. Granada has been inhabited by many empires for 2,500 years from the Greeks, Romans, Visigoths and the Moors. Remainder of each reigning era is prominent in Granada’s cultural and architectural influences. Imprints of the past can be found in Albaicin, an old Arabic quarter paved with cobble stoned streets, ogee arches, voussoirs, and decorative tile work. When the sun sets, Alhambra is at its most beautiful and radiant complimenting Byzantine courtyards and muqarna details. Homes also reflect the Mediterranean and Renaissance elegance long past. Present-day Granada attracts visitors by recapturing the past and evoking the co-existence of different cultures.
